What we collect

When you contact us we collect only what we need to respond: your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property concerned, and the details or photographs of the work you are asking about.

We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not ask for sensitive personal data.

How we use it

Your details are used to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation, arrange and carry out work, and keep a record of the job for warranty and compliance purposes. We may contact you about the specific job you enquired about.

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your agreement.

Our legal basis (UK GDPR)

We rely on legitimate interests and, where you ask us to quote or carry out work, the performance of a contract, to use your enquiry details to respond and complete the job. We rely on your consent for any non-essential cookies and analytics, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Cookies and analytics

We set only strictly necessary storage by default: what is needed to deliver the pages, keep the site secure, and remember your cookie choice. These do not track you and do not require consent.

With your consent we also use Google Analytics (a first-party measurement script served by Google) to see which pages are useful and how visitors reach us. No analytics script loads and no analytics cookies are set until you accept. Analytics data is aggregated, IP addresses are handled by Google in anonymised form, and we do not use it to identify you.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or by clearing this site's storage in your browser.

Sharing and international transfers

We share information only where needed to do the work or run the site: our parent company S.R. Gardiner Ltd, sub-contractors or suppliers involved in your specific job, our accountants, and Google as our analytics provider where you have consented. Google may process analytics data outside the UK under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed work are kept for six years, as we need them for warranty claims, tax records and any later questions about the installation.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Email your request to us and we will respond within one month.

You can also ask us to restrict or object to our processing, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent for analytics at any time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
