About these terms

These terms apply to work carried out by Caldwellside Plumbing, Block 5, Unit 1, Caldwellside Industrial Estate, Lanark, ML11 7SR. Accepting a quotation or instructing us to begin work means accepting these terms.

Quotations and estimates

A written quotation is fixed for 30 days and covers the scope described within it. An estimate is an indication only. Guide prices shown on this website are for budgeting and are not an offer.

If work is found to be necessary beyond the quoted scope — for example concealed pipework in poor condition or drainage found to be collapsed — we will stop, explain the position and agree the additional cost with you before continuing.

Access and site conditions

You agree to provide safe access to the property and to the relevant water, gas and electrical isolation points. Where access cannot be provided at an agreed appointment, a charge may be made for the wasted visit.

We take reasonable care to protect floors and furnishings. Lifting fitted floor coverings, tiling or fixed units may be unavoidable, and reinstatement to original condition cannot always be guaranteed.

Payment

Small works are invoiced on completion and payable within 14 days. Larger installations are staged: a materials deposit at order, with the balance due on completion.

We accept cash, bank transfer and card. Title in supplied goods remains with us until payment is received in full.

Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. Manufactured goods carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which we register on your behalf where required.

The guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by third parties, freezing, misuse, or failure to carry out required servicing.

Cancellation

Where you are a consumer you may cancel within 14 days of accepting a quotation. If you have asked us to begin within that period, you are liable for work already carried out and materials already ordered.

Liability

We accept liability for loss or damage caused by our negligence. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, or for indirect losses such as loss of income. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law and subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
